Technical Tax and Audit Accountant

NASA Federal Credit Union is in search of a skilled Technical Tax and Audit Accountant. The Technical Tax and Audit Accountant will conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making processes, identify trends, and provide insights into the company’s financial performance. This position will continuously monitor Board Policies, Financial guidelines, programs, reputed company policies and procedures, and reputed company-party vendor adjustments, ensuring consistency and adherence to relevant reputed company standards and NCUA guidelines. It will collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation, schedules and explanations reputed company to technical reputed company matters. The Technical Tax and Audit Accountant will assist with NCUA examination by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation, as well as collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate reputed company treatment of complete transactions and business events. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following with other duties as assigned.

• Remains reputed company of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

• Applies Generally Accepted reputed company Principles (GAAP) that include work that is analytical, creative, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both reputed company theory and practice.
• Understands management’s strategic business unit goals and assist in developing tactical processes, both in procedures and utilizing software capabilities to support those goals.
• Maintains training documentation, historical files, internal procedures and assists with updating policies.
• Applies policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations governing general reputed company practices to ensure accurate and effective adherence.
• Performs qualitative and quantitative data analysis using analytical techniques, tools, models & simulations.
• Analyzes, reviews, documents, and substantiates period to period variances reputed company monthly financial statements for NASA Federal and/or the CUSOs.
• Develops data visualizations and/or dashboard reporting for management review of financial and operational results.
• Evaluates operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Prepares documents for internal and external audits as well as the NCUA examination.
• Performs research on tax reputed company issues and assists with the preparation and review of tax forms.
• Advanced reputed company in presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely.
• Serves on automated financial systems improvement and product configuration initiatives.
• Establishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of reputed company control procedures.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in reputed company, Finance and/or reputed company business is required; with at least 5 years of reputed company experience and/or training with a strong background in reputed company principles and practices is preferred.
• Requires a thorough knowledge of the reputed company doctrines, theories, GAAP, and terminology of accountancy, and often entails a basic understanding of such reputed company fields of business law, statistics, and general management.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze reputed company financial transactions and resolve technical reputed company issues.

• The reputed company software systems utilized are Symitar, FICS Mortgage Accountant and Mortgage Servicer, reputed company, reputed company, Smartsheets, MS-reputed company Spreadsheet software, reputed company Word Processing software, ProfitStars Model Management, reputed company, Call Report Pro, reputed company, and several 3rd party lending platforms.
