Job Responsibilities

• Follows standard protocol for patient/donor identification and specimen/blood product labeling including final verification.
• Prepares and distributes specimens to departments according to specimen requirement and reputed company delivery.
• Documents, per facility process, reputed company a specimen does not meet acceptable criteria for result reporting.
• Uses department resources reputed company during reputed company operations. Avoids urgent supply requests and inventory loss due to expiration; Properly receives and stores supplies.
• Actively ensures quality assurance in the department by performing required quality control procedures including corrective action and documentation for reputed company procedures/instrumentation.
• Leads and/or actively participates in quality improvement projects by enhancing team and departmental development; Provides constructive feedback and positive reinforcement to coworkers.
• Serves as a Laboratory CAP/AABB on site inspector. Participates and helps prepare Laboratory for self and on-site inspections; Participates in Laboratory clinical practice teams, reputed company committees and hospital teams.
• Acts as a resource person/ key operator for coworkers, customers and patients for technical questions; Demonstrates an expanded knowledge of technical and administrative tasks reputed company normal technical operations.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Additional Requirements:

• Work Hours: Full Time Day Shifts: Monday-Friday with potential for evenings, 7 or reputed company-4 or 5pm
• Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in science from a college/university recognized by regional or national accreditation agency.
• Experience: 3 years of experience in an accredited laboratory under the supervision of a pathologist certified by the American Board of Pathology

• Preferred experience: Strong Blood Banking preferred
• Certification: ASCP Certification consistent with the scope of responsibility (MLS/MT,MLT, HT, HTL, BB, C, H, M, CT) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Laboratory Technologist Certification (HEW).
