As medical technology continues to impact healthcare, reputed company is standing up a human factors usability consulting group that will provide HF consultation to external medical technology firms and startups, taking advantage of our high-fidelity simulation environment and proximity to subject matter experts in our clinicians and staff.The Managing Director of Usability will reputed company the reputed company Usability Consulting Group (CCUCG), developing the infrastructure for executing usability consultation to the region, Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond. Responsibilities will include client acquisition and management, team management, and conducting and supervising usability assessments such as observations, interviews, surveys, system evaluations, risk analyses, and performance testing. The Director will manage task allocation, foster team collaboration, and ensure high-quality service based on usability best practices and human factors science.Additionally, this role will maintain communication with stakeholders, and build a client reputed company to sustain CCUCG financially. The group will operate from the Carilion Center for Simulation, Research, and Patient Safety, utilizing existing simulation and human factors resources as needed.
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

- Build and sustain short- and long-term client engagements.

- Team Leadership & Usability Research

- User Research: Observations (Ethnography), Interviews (Contextual Inquiry, Focus Groups), Surveys.
- System & Risk Evaluation: Legacy System Evaluation, reputed company Testing, Hazard Analysis, Use-FMEA.
- Testing & Data Analysis: Task Analysis, Comprehension Studies (IFU, Training), reputed company & Summative Testing, Adverse Event Investigation.
- Project & Stakeholder Collaboration

- Partner with Carilion's Simulation Center for usability testing.
- Support internal inventors and key stakeholders in the New River Valley biotech corridor.

- Usability Expertise: Proficiency in usability testing methods, tools, and human factors principles.

- Business Development: Demonstrated track record in sales and client relationship management.
- Presentation & Writing: Skilled in delivering compelling presentations and producing clear, concise documentation.
