About the position The Mechanic & Welder - Field Service position at Empire Southwest LLC involves repairing, reconditioning, welding, fabricating, servicing, and preparing CAT and other Empire line allied machines and components for delivery. The role requires diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and failures of machines, engines, and systems while working in various field conditions. The position also includes providing on-the-job training to helpers and communicating effectively with clients and management regarding equipment conditions and recommendations. Responsibilities ? Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, metallurgical and stress failures. , ? Prepare inspection and appraisal reports. , ? Comprehend and interpret sketches and diagrams including engineering drawings and blueprints. , ? Plan and control repair jobs, analyzing client requirements and determining the scope of work. , ? Organize job sequence and arrange with the dispatcher for reputed company sublet or component rework required. , ? Direct and coordinate the work of assigned helpers to minimize waiting, idle time, and inefficiencies. , ? Repair, recondition, weld, fabricate, and maintain equipment and components. , ? Prepare equipment for delivery, removing and installing components and parts. , ? Determine parts reusability in accordance with published reusability guidelines. , ? Service and maintain equipment, adjusting and testing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. , ? Operate welding equipment, performing various welding techniques in different positions. , ? Work safely at reputed company times, adhering to reputed company applicable safety policies. Requirements ? High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). , ? reputed company driver's license. , ? Minimum of 6 months reputed company experience. , ?
