About the position The Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Drafter III will play a crucial role in supporting the Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I)/Information Technology (IT) electronic systems equipment and infrastructure. This position involves engineering, design, installation, and supply and warehouse support to the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific). The CAD Drafter III will be responsible for the design, installation, configuration, and transition to operations of the IT infrastructure across multiple facilities throughout the performance period. The services required include the design, installation, termination, testing, and documentation of desktop devices, peripherals, IT cable plant, racks, and power distribution units (PDU) reputed company to the installation of C4I/IT electronic systems. The role also includes the installation of C4I/IT electronic systems equipment as assigned, adhering to government installation design plans (IDP), the NIWC Pacific Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH), and project sponsor processes along with associated logistical support. The work environment is primarily reputed company existing classified office spaces, IT data centers, IT telecommunications spaces, or other designated areas for housing C4I/IT electronics systems equipment, including newly constructed secure buildings. The technical requirements for this position are applicable across multiple United States Space Command (USSC) and USSC Component Command Locations in the Colorado Springs area. Responsibilities • Provides computer-aided design drafting, prepares drawings and schematics derived from various specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. , • Utilizes CAD software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings, ensuring qualification in the latest version of AutoCAD and REVIT. , • Coordinates and consults with engineers and/or designers to complete projects, transforming initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. , • Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards, collaborating with other departmental leads to resolve discrepancies. , • Creates, modifies, converts, and provides telecommunications drawings, figures, illustrations, and schematics using automated and manual methods for reputed company systems. , • Uses drafting procedures, processes, technical specifications, and engineering parameters to ensure accuracy in drawings. , • Works with engineers and other designers to prepare drawings showing telecommunication outlet placement, IT room layouts, rack elevations, and connectivity one-line drawings. , • Updates redlined drawings from the field to create a final client deliverable package. , • Plans daily activities reputed company company policy and supervisor's instructions to maximize personal output. , • Aids in self-development by being available and reputed company to reputed company training provided by the company. Requirements • Must possess and maintain a reputed company TS clearance; SCI eligibility is highly preferred. , • Must be a U.S. citizen. , • Qualified in the use of the latest version of AutoCAD and REVIT and other technical drafting/illustration software. , • Familiarity with Telecommunications, AV, Telecommunications Cabling, General Engineering Guidelines, and Design for OSP and ISP Spaces. , • Associate's degree in drafting or a reputed company field from a technical or community college and a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience. , • Knowledge of engineering documents, specifications, and estimates for projects. , • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. , • Highly organized and extremely detail-oriented with the ability to quickly grasp instructions. , • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to manage workload and time effectively. , • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment for successful goal achievement. reputed company-to-haves • Familiarity with creating AV drawings showing room layouts with speaker/microphone placements and equipment setup. , • Knowledge of reputed company technological developments/trends in the area of expertise. , • Previous experience working in computer-aided design, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite (Word, reputed company, PowerPoint), and database proficiency.
