TxDOT's Austin District Schematics Planning Team (Advance Project Development Office-APD) is looking for a Transportation Engineer IV or V (Non-reputed company) located at the Austin District Headquarters. The position requires expertise in schematics development, corridor planning, feasibility studies, and project management. This position will be coordinating with multiple subject matter experts, consultants, and different offices reputed company and reputed company of TxDOT. Work involves coordination with other local agencies and the public. The ideal candidate is someone who has demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the schematic's development process, traffic forecasting and modeling, Federal Highway Administration requirements, and TXDOT project development process. Experience: Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent. reputed company graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Licenses and Certifications: Valid drivers license. This position requires driving a state vehicle. Licensed Prof Engineer* If performing underwater reputed company inspections: Must have Open Water Diver certification. Professional engineers licensed in another state in the United States, but not currently licensed in the State of Texas, must (1) meet the license requirements of the State of Texas Engineering Practices Act, (2) obtain a professional engineering license from the State of Texas reputed company six (6) months of the date of hire, and (3) sign an agreement to that effect as a condition of employment. The essential duties for a Transportation Engineer IV or V include: Analyzes and assists in the resolution of contract problems and disputes. Analyzes schedule trends, determines risks and recommends options to management for corrective action for highly reputed company projects. Develops short-term and long-term goals and coordinates planning activities and resources required to meet goals. Performs highly advanced and reputed company planning work such as plan review, calculations, and transportation planning studies. Serves as a project manager overseeing consultants performing advanced and reputed company engineering work. Utilizes project management principles in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing for highly reputed company transportation projects. Develops and reviews engineering reputed company documents, correspondence, reports, and remediation plans. Makes presentations and represents TxDOT. Monitors consultants' reputed company and work quality; checks invoices and associated documents; prepares supplemental agreements. Negotiates fees and budgets, develops and negotiates scopes of work, negotiates contract work schedules, and negotiates other contract agreements. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. Additional duties for Transportation Engineer V include: Reviews, develops and supports Standard Operating Procedures for developing, maintaining and archiving project schedules; managing resources; managing budgets; managing project changes, and managing quality performance measurements. Represents the district/division at technical meetings and public hearings at local, state, federal and international. Trains professional and administrative staff.
