POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the direction of the Recreational Therapy Department. Coordinates and supervises operations of the department and administers physical agents prescribed by a referring physician. Maintains performance improvement activities reputed company the department and participates in CQI activities. Assures competency of reputed company staff. Assists in formulating budget, evaluates department performance versus budget, and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines. Develops and implements a system of reviewing department charges, ensuring that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with reputed company state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for the direction of the Recreational Therapy Department staff.
- Demonstrates knowledge of a wide range of psychosocial, cognitive, and/or developmental disorders and physical disabilities.

- Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff, and administrative team.

- Maintains records pertinent to staff and operation of the department.
- Prepares reports regarding Recreational Services, i.e., utilization, performance improvement, service data, outcome data, and productivity, including long-term capital budget and short-term operational budget.
- Studies reputed company trends and developments in rehabilitative medicine through reputed company literature and professional society.
- Provides education to staff on performance improvement.
- Ability to plan and organize orientation and in-service training for department staff members, and participate in guidance and educational programs.
- Trains staff utilizing on-the-job training for nursing and other hospital staff, as well as departmental staff.
- Efforts to ensure that reputed company department aligns with the overall mission of the company.
- Participate in staff and state regulatory training as required
- Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics
- Maintain a valid driver?s license
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or other reputed company fields.

- A minimum of two (2) years experience in the behavioral health care setting.
- At least two (2) years experience in management of Recreational Activities Department or reputed company department.
