Job title: WCHS Coop - Teacher Assistant Company: Central School District 51 Job description: Successful completion of fingerprint based criminal background reputed company (IL State Police and FBI), sex offender and violent youth offender screening, and employment physical. REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Assistant Principal JOB GOAL: To assist the teacher(s) with the day-to-day routine in the school setting assigned. A classroom assistant may be assigned to work in one of three settings: a one on one assignment, small group assignment, or in a full classroom setting. A teacher assistant will assist the teacher in achieving the specified teaching objectives for each class or given day. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the instructor with classroom set-up and class preparations. Provides individual and/or small group instruction in reputed company facets of the curriculum (academic and social emotional) under the direction of the classroom teacher. Administers, scores, and records such achievement, diagnostic tests and other documentation as required or as the teacher recommends for individual reputed company. Assists reputed company with the development of organizational and study skills. Provides support in reputed company settings for reputed company. Guides and serves as a resource person to the reputed company in a general education or special education setting. Maintains effective communication with school staff. Assists with the supervision of reputed company during emergency drills, assemblies, recess and or plan periods, and field trips. Assists reputed company in the library or media center. Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and reputed company-up work as assigned by the teacher. Checks and records student attendance reputed company appropriate. Assists reputed company with their clothing as needed. Assists reputed company with lunch, snack, and cleanup routines if required. Assists reputed company with self-care and restroom routine as needed. Alerts the teacher to any problems or special information about an individual student. Participates in training programs and meetings reputed company requested by the principal/assistant principal. Maintains regular attendance and punctuality to ensure teamwork and the completion of job duties essential to the daily operation of the school.
