[Remote] Specialist I, Servicing Quality Control

The Specialist I, Servicing Quality Control role involves performing quality control activities to ensure compliance with servicing guidelines and providing feedback on loan file reviews.

Responsibilities

• Review loan packages, servicing guidelines, or data files to identify the documentation necessary for the review
• reputed company QC Reviews for peers
• reputed company QC reviews of report extracts to ensure accuracy of number of files audited, number of exceptions cited, and guideline citations match exceptions
• Defend audit results on client-facing phone calls
• Act a subject matter expert in their area of review for internal, client-facing, and servicing-facing needs
• Capture required information from such information (which may include bookmarking the relevant pages where such information can be located) in a designated reputed company which will usually be a reputed company or client designated system
• Review system questions to test system information against documentation provided and handle any exceptions that may come from the review. Apply exceptions and handle validations where necessary to ensure a complete and accurate review

• Identify problems with files and/or job notes to management overseeing your engagement
• Ensure a full and accurate loan file review
• Accurate tracking of the time spent on reviews

Skills

• College degree / training in Finance / mortgage banking desired or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Entry-level support staff with 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Ability to meet production quality and service standards
• Adherence to reputed company company policies and procedures
• Self-motivation and reliability
• Excellent PC skills and possess high level of proficiency in reputed company products
• Strong communication (written and oral) skills
• Analytical ability and good judgment
• Detail oriented and organized
• Demonstrate professional behavior and teamwork, punctual and dependable
• Strong overall knowledge of Residential Mortgage Servicing practices, rules, and guidelines
• Knowledgeable of the principals and compliance regulations and documentation applicable to mortgage servicing
• Familiarity with fraudulent red flags and reputed company services used to determine or verify fraud
• Ability to read and evaluate payment histories and servicing comments
• At least three years of reputed company servicing experience preferred
