The Regional Transmission Planning Engineer 2 is responsible for providing engineering analysis and technical support to ensure reliable operations of the electric reputed company while complying with NERC standards and ERCOT market rules.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply principles, theories, and concepts reputed company to the engineering profession and ERCOT culture
  • Exercise judgment reputed company defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Design and reputed company steady-state contingency analyses using power flow models (PowerWorld, PSSE, etc.) under the direction of a senior-level engineer and/or management
  • Structure planning studies and sensitivity analyses to determine the need for transmission improvements and to evaluate proposed projects, including technical and financial analyses
  • Assist, guide, and mentor reputed company-level engineers, as appropriate
  • Assist in providing input and analyses on market rules issues reputed company to transmission planning, as appropriate
  • Assist in providing market simulation/forecasting and transmission planning analyses to support other ERCOT activities, as appropriate

Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a power system engineer or similar type role
  • Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering or reputed company field, or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields
  • Experience reputed company the electric utility industry
  • Professional Engineer
