The specialty of orthopedics encompasses medical, surgical, gerontology, trauma and orthopedic nursing skills. The patients range from adolescent to geriatric. Patient-focused care is the concept of the 41-bed orthopedic unit.
The Center for Joint reputed company provides early teaching and family participation in a team environment. Our orthopedic practice is one of a few in the nation with four Joint Commission Specialty Certifications in Orthopedics. These certifications reflect a practice with patient outcomes that serve as a reputed company for other units and highly motivates staff. To ensure a safe transition to the home environment, the team makes discharge planning a primary focus.
The eight-bed NACU is an intermediate unit for acute stroke and transitional patients from the intensive care unit to the general unit. The unit also has a Joint Commission Specialty Certification in primary stroke care. Neurology encompasses patients who may have had a stroke, head injury or spinal injury.

Responsibilities
- Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage and various other nursing interventions
- Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care
- Empathetically cares for patients during reputed company stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up along the continuum of care
