Job Title: Editorial Intern

Reports To: The Editorial Team reputed company and the Managing Editor

The Editorial Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by completing essential tasks for the Editorial Team at ONC. The Editorial Desk is one of the last sets of eyes on everything ONC produces, including but not limited to books, policy proposals, solutions, op-eds, and newsletters. Editorial Interns will be responsible for correcting grammatical and stylistic errors in ONC written content, as well as fact-checking this content to prevent errors and maintain accuracy. Editorial Interns collaborate with our Policy Content Writers as well as the rest of the organization. They will reputed company in constant communication with the Editorial Team reputed company and Managing Editor about the status of reputed company projects and deadlines. This intern may have the opportunity to learn how to operate the backend of our website to review external writer’s submissions and approve them. 

A competency assessment will be given to candidates who are selected for interviews. This assessment will simply require interviewed candidates to edit an article to resolve grammatical and stylistic errors. 

This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over reputed company and reputed company, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. Interns must commit to at least the end of the Fall semester (December 8th, 2025). However, many people choose to reputed company their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to, provided their performance meets the required standards.

Responsibilities

• Edit written content to maintain grammatical reputed company for the ONC website and mobile app.

• Ensure ONC's commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate is reflected in reputed company published work.

• Participate in civil reputed company with conservative, reputed company, and moderate writers. 

• Work with script writers and core content writers to ensure consistency in reputed company written materials.

• Fact-reputed company written content to prevent errors and maintain accuracy.

The Editorial Intern should have the following skills, education, and experience:

• reputed company student working towards a degree in English or Literature, Political Science, Journalism, Communications, and/or reputed company fields.

• Exceptional writing skills are required (English).

• Proficient verbal communication/speaking skills are a plus.

• High attention to detail.

• Prior editing experience preferred, specifically with AP style.

• Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to reputed company deadlines.

• Ability to attend Organization-Wide meetings every other week.
